The short answer
A zombie couple video is a short AI clip of the zombie love story trend. One of you has turned but keeps your face, and the other raises a gun but can't fire. A warm flashback cuts in, the gun drops, and you hug.
On Popix you add one photo of each person, pick a scene and press Generate. A 5-second clip at 720p costs 5 credits, and a failed video gives them back. No gore, no app, no prompt.

Why the zombie love story went viral
The zombie love story spread on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts in the run-up to Halloween. Every clip tells the same story: someone you love has turned, and you can't pull the trigger.
- It flips the genre. Zombie clips are usually about running and shooting. This one ends in a hug.
- It is about real people. The zombie has your partner's face, so viewers tag the person they would never shoot.
- It is easy to remake. All it takes is two photos, so couples, friends and families made their own.
Early versions took long prompts in AI video tools. Popix builds the whole story in, so you only add the faces.

Tips for a better zombie clip
- Use a clear, front-facing photo for Photo 2. The zombie keeps that face, so the clearer it is, the more recognizable the result.
- Two upper-body portraits of a similar size work better than one far-away group photo.
- Photo order decides who turns. Swap the photos to switch roles.
- Use photos of people who are in on it, and ask before you post.

Zombie Couple Video questions
It is a short AI video format that spread on TikTok. One partner has turned into a zombie but keeps their own face, the other raises a gun and can't shoot, and after a warm flashback they hug. It took off because it turns a horror cliché into a love story about real people, and anyone can remake it with two photos.
Add a clear, front-facing photo of yourself as Photo 1 and one of your partner as Photo 2. Pick one of five scenes, then press Generate. You get a 5-second vertical 720p clip by default; open the settings row to change the length, format or quality first. The Generate button shows the credits before you spend any.
There is no free trial right now. Each video uses credits: 1 credit per second at 720p, so a 5-second clip is 5 credits, and 480p costs half (rounded up). If a video fails, your credits are back, and credits you buy never expire.
No single app owns it, and it is not a filter. General AI video generators can make a similar clip, but you have to write the prompts and edit the scenes together yourself. On Popix you just upload two photos and generate it in your browser.
Yes. Photo 2 becomes the zombie and Photo 1 stays human, so swap the photos to switch roles. You can pick one of five scenes: abandoned house, snowy cabin, gas station, hospital corridor or abandoned mall, and choose the length, format and quality. The standoff, the flashback and the hug are part of the story and stay the same.
Download the finished video as an MP4. Choose 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts (16:9 and 1:1 are there too). Pick 720p, or 480p to spend fewer credits. The video has no watermark, so you can upload it to TikTok or Instagram as it is.
